The Curriculum Committee of New Frontiers is responsible for putting together an interesting, vibrant and inviting schedule of classes twice a year, October and February. During the summer months a small schedule exists. A class schedule book published in September and January shows all the classes available for the coming semester. The summer schedule is distributed through a special mailing. Your membership fee entitles you to attend as few or as many classes as you can attend. These classes, which are peer led, are academically, fun, discussion or travel focused. Every attempt is made to come up with a varied offering which will have something for everyone, everything from the history of the Bible, to big bands, to book discussions, to hiking the Superstitions, to conversational Spanish. There are no exams, no pressure for grades, everyone passes the course. Classes are held at the MCC campuses (Dobson, Red Mountain, Downtown Center/Cenennial Way) or at various locations around the city. The only additional cost to the membership fee may be a nominal lab or supplies fee for a particular class. Curriculum planning is an ongoing process, with the focus being on the members—their needs, their preferences, and their participation. |
