Should I attend “Open House?”
You should attend Open House if you are considering
becoming a NFLL member or if you already belong. This is a chance to
discuss topics with the facilitators and presenters, gather information about
learning opportunities, become a member or enroll in upcoming classes.
What is New
Member’s Coffee?
If you have just joined NFLL it is suggested that you
attend the “New Member’s Coffee” event that is scheduled soon after each Open
House. It is a great time to meet other new members and learn about upcoming
events and opportunities to participate.
What activities are available to New Frontiers
Members?

ways:
· Meaningful participation in the setting of goals and

greater Phoenix area.

How many classes can I take at a time?
You may register for as many classes as you wish. Please be sure to check for schedule conflicts. Some classes have multiple sessions occuring
weekly, while others may only occur
once. Travel programs or social activities may occasionally
conflict with a session of a class.
When and where are New Frontiers classes and
events held?
New Frontiers publishes a Class Schedule every
Spring and Fall semester giving locations and times of each class. A
supporting calendar is also available on the web site showing events, trips, and committee meetings along with their locations and times.
What do I do if I can’t attend an event that I
have signed up for?
Contact the facilitator for that event as soon as
possible as some events may have waiting lists. If you registered for the class
through one of the affiliated centers, contact the center
where you registered.
The class I signed up for was full. How do I
know if space has become available?
If you were placed on a waiting list you will be contacted if space becomes available before the first
meeting. Space becomes available in three different ways:
· Someone is unable to attend and advises the
facilitator.
· A larger facility is used to accommodate the greater
demand.
· Another class is scheduled to handle the overflow.
Availability is handled in order of registration.
How do I locate New Frontiers officers, council
members or committee chairs?
On the New Frontiers Homepage, click on the NF Council
button at the top right corner of the page. An e-mail address for the council and each committee is listed.
How do I communicate questions or suggestions to
the New Frontiers governing council?
As a New Frontiers member you may present your
concerns, suggestions, ideas or issues by phone, postal mail, contact form, or council e-mails as listed on the New Frontiers website contact page. You may always speak with any officer or committee chairperson. It is best to contact the specific committee chair
regarding an issue related to the activities of that committee.
You also have available two Members at Large. These are members elected to represent you at Council meetings and are always available
to hear from members. Check the NF Council link in the upper right corner of every web page for the names of your current representatives.
Opportunities are also available during membership
meetings and members are always invited to attend council meetings as guests. All New Frontiers meetings are open to the membership. Please be advised that Council
meetings have a predetermined agenda so issues presented at a meeting may
be placed on the agenda and addressed during a
future meeting. Check the Calendar for date, time and location.
I’m going to a class or event but I don’t know
how to get there. Where can I find directions?
The location is listed in the schedule and calendar.
Three documents help you to find the exact location.
· New Frontiers Class Location Map – A map of the East
Valley indicating the location of the facility or campus hosting the event.
Inside the back cover of the Class Schedule and on-line.
· MCC Campus Map – A map of the Mesa Community College
Southern and Dobson campus with building locations and parking facilities.
· RMMCC Campus Map – A map of the Mesa Community College
Red Mountain campus with building locations and parking facilities.
· NFLL Classroom Assignments – A
listing of classes showing dates, locations and rooms.
These documents may be viewed by clicking on the
Schedule button on the New Frontiers website and are also included in the
membership package that is mailed to each member prior to the beginning of the
fall and spring semesters.
How can I find the facilitator name and contact
information?
To protect the privacy of our members, personal
contact information is not posted on the web site but is located in the NFLL Members Directory mailed to
active members.
The Class Schedule
(mailed to active members) includes the names of presenters and
facilitators with contact information.
